amberalene asked: What is your favorite band you've ever seen live? Just out of curiosity.
This is difficult to answer.. I suppose you’re asking, “what’s the best show I’ve been to?” WELL, I’ve been to a butt-ton of shows. I’m not trying to brag at all, it’s just that’s all I used to do in highschool is go to shows. It didn’t even matter if I liked the bands or not. I loved music, I loved slamming my body around to music and having my ears ring for hours after I got home.I loved buying 15$ tee shirts and nodding approvingly at school to other kids wearing shirts from the same show I was at. I ALSO LOVED ME SOME BUTTONS.
LOOK AT BUTTONS MICHAEL!

I had these suckers all over my bookbag as badges of honour. You may recognize some of the bands there: Moneen, Alexisonfire, Spital Field, Cancer Bats, etc.
I don’t know if I feel that way now though, maybe I’m getting old. Ugh. ANYWAYS, onto your question..
I think one of my most memorable shows was when Moneen played with The Fullblast. It was a small basement type show that was packed to the brim with 200+ kids from Fredericton NB. I was there, front and center screaming my lungs out with everyone else. It was awesome because I knew all of the words to every single song and so did everyone else. Everyone wanted to be there and we’re sharing the same joy of seeing one of our favourite bands put the mic in our faces and let us sing “The Passing Of America” with them. It was like you instantly had 200 friends surrounding you. Strangers would put their sweaty arms around you and you’d help up fallen kids if the mosh got to aggressive. That show was also the first time I worked up the nerve to ask the band for an autograph. I got a poster signed and had a convo with the lead singer Kenny AND IT WAS JUST THE BEST EVER. Seriously, all it takes to make a good show great is having the band be friendly and want to meet and talk to their fans.

(The hippy was angry, but no one got killed… this time! Craziest show. Kenny .m.)
I don’t know if this was my most favorite show, but it was the most memorable. Yes. Sigh, good times.
